Offline Scanning NFC & QR Security Checkpoints

Scanning NFC & QR Security Checkpoints Offline is Easy, Reliable & Affordable with this Offline Security Checkpoint Scanner. Call (800) 688-9633 or DEMO.

Scanning NFC tags or QR codes is a common way to assure that your security officers are patrolling the exact spots where they are required. Offline security checkpoint scanning simply means that those checkpoints which are located out of range of any kind of cell signal—in the basement of the hospital or in the rural construction site, oil field, pipeline, for example—will no longer be missed.

This Offline NFC Tag and QR Code scanning Security Guard App automatically switches to OFFLINE mode when it loses connection to a cell signal or Wi-Fi. In Offline checkpoint scanning mode, your mobile workforce will be able to continue scanning NFC and QR checkpoints until signal is restored.

If your customer expects complete checkpoint tracking, with no excuses, you need a dependable offline NFC and/ or QR security checkpoint scanning capability along with excellent Online Security Checkpoint Scanning capabilities. Accountability, as usual, has got your six.

The screen below appears when Security Checkpoint Offline Scanning activates:

If a mobile patrol app user is logged into the app and loses all connection, Offline Mode will automatically kick in. There is a button to retry connection manually, if the officer suspects it may have been a momentary glitch, but the offline security checkpoint scanning capability will remain in place if the device is truly offline. The “Scan” button at the bottom of the screen will become “Offline Scan” for QR and/or NFC scanning, and a yellow bar will appear to let the user know how many “Pending Scans” await reconnection, as illustrated below.

When the guard tour management app regains connectivity and returns to Online Mode, the pending offline scans should automatically count down and disappear. If, for any reason, any offline scans get “stuck”, the yellow bar can be tapped (only in Online Mode) to view the pending scans. A “Retry All” button is then provided, along with a list of all the pending tag numbers.

If the app is accidentally closed out while offline scans are still pending, no worries. When the security officer finds a signal and logs back in, the pending submissions should still be saved on their device and pass through to the reports now that connection has been restored.

To make offline scanning reliable, fast, and convenient, no form “reports” (where a security officer can normally type or speak about anything notable at that checkpoint) or pics are included with the offline scans. Offline security checkpoint scans will automatically be marked with an Activity Type of “Offline Scan” and, if global positioning is still available on the device despite the lack of data connection, coordinates will still be provided.

Otherwise, the offline RFID/ NFC and QR security checkpoint scan submissions—supporting offline QR and NFC tags for location checkpoint scanning only. Visitor Reports/Site Inspections/Custom scanning is not supported—will contain the officer’s/ user’s information, location (if available), the date and time of the submission when the offline scan was completed, Client, Site, and Checkpoint name.
